Plumpton is a very popular village situated at the foothills of the South Downs and offers a wonderful community atmosphere. The local village shop is well equipped and there are several farm shops close by selling locally produce. The walks from the village are endless and there are a few local pubs, including The Half Moon immediately beneath the downs which serves fabulous food. There is an excellent local primary school and children progress to senior school at nearby Chailey. Plumpton Station benefits from a direct line to London Victoria in a little over an hour making the village a popular destination for those wishing to commute. Plumpton Racecourse is on the outskirts of the village and is one of the smallest racecourses in the country, but a great day out for all the family on race days. There is a local play park and football pitch in the centre of the village and Lewes is approximately 15 minutes drive with a great selection of high street and independent shops and restaurants.
